Usually, it’s not the machine itself—it’s the lamps. Over time, those infrared lamps degrade, and suddenly your thermal profile is all over the place. We’ve spent a lot of time building replacement lamps that actually fit the original KHS footprint. The goal was simple: get rid of those uneven heat fields so you can stop babysitting your oven. Getting the heat where it needs to be These lamps pack a punch. We use a specific voltage-to-length ratio to make sure the heat is steady from one end of the tube to the other. No “cold spots” at the edges. No guessing games. Just a consistent flow of heat that gets your PET resin to the right temperature every single time. The nitty-gritty stuff We use high-purity quartz glass because, let’s be honest, the rapid heating and cooling in these ovens is brutal. The glass has to take that shock without cracking. The filament is tuned for short-wave infrared. Why? Because it actually sinks into the PET preform instead of just bouncing off the surface. And don’t worry about the install. We use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. You just pop them in. No rewiring, no hacking at the housing, no headache. A quick heads-up Here’s the thing: these lamps put out a lot of energy. That means your ventilation has to be on point. If your cooling fans are choked with dust, these lamps will overheat at the end caps and burn out way faster than they should. Give your fans a cleaning before you swap the bulbs. Also, keep an eye on your voltage. A tiny 5% spike can chew through the life of a lamp. But once you’ve got them dialed in?
