Energy use comes down too—short-wave infrared heats the preform directly instead of warming the whole tunnel mass. Installation is straightforward, but alignment is not optional. Check reflector condition and emitter position during replacement; even a small offset shifts the hot spot and can show up as asymmetrical bottles. Infrared output also decays with hours. Plan on replacing around 5,000–6,000 hours of operation, and keep spare mounts and R7s connectors on hand so downtime stays short.
