If you’re running SIG Blomax lines, you know the headache of tubes failing left and right. It usually comes down to thermal shock or the seal just giving up under the pressure. When your line keeps dropping tubes, the last thing you need is some generic lamp that “should” work. You need something actually built for the stress of the blowing process. The deal with 2500W heat density We set these IR radiators to 2500W for a reason. It’s the sweet spot to get those PET preforms to the right temperature before they blow. Packing that much power into such a small space means huge heat density. The plus side? Your ramp-up is fast, and your cycle times stay tight. But there’s a catch. That kind of energy puts a massive strain on the quartz envelope. If the glass isn’t top-tier purity, the tube is just going to warp or crack. Simple as that. Why most tubes actually break Most generic radiators fail at the pinch seal. It’s the weakest link. To fix this, we reinforced the whole structural design. We tweaked the quartz wall thickness and made sure the filament is centered perfectly. This kills off those internal hotspots that usually lead to a burnout. These are built as Sidel-style units, so they just slide right into your existing mounts. No tinkering required. We spent a lot of time on the seal integrity where the lead wires enter the quartz, because that’s where the real beating happens. A tougher seal means you aren’t stopping the line for unplanned repairs every other shift. A quick word on heat Getting these wired up is easy. But keep in mind, 2500W units put out a lot of ambient heat. Check your cooling fans and airflow baffles. If they’re clogged with dust or grime, even the toughest reinforced tube will overheat and die early. Keep your machine’s airflow clean, and these will outlast the OEM parts every time.
