
Getting Your Sidel and Krones Heaters Right
If you’re running PET blowing lines, you know the deal. Those high-intensity infrared lamps are the heart of the operation. If they aren’t hitting the preforms just right, everything goes sideways. We build our replacement lamps specifically for Sidel and Krones footprints. We don’t overcomplicate it. We just focus on the three things that actually keep your line moving: the electrical load, the size, and how the heat actually hits the plastic.
The headache of power and fit
Think of a lamp as more than just a bulb. It’s all about the resistance. We make sure our tubes match your oven’s voltage and wattage exactly. Whether you’re on a 230V or 400V system, that wattage is what controls the heat density. Here is the problem: if the wattage is even slightly off, you get cold spots. And cold spots mean uneven walls and burst bottles. Nobody wants to deal with that. To make your life easier, we use standard R7s and Sk15 connectors. They just slide right in. No rewiring, no modifying the holders, no swearing at the machine for three hours.
Why the materials matter
We stick with high-purity quartz glass and halogen gas fills. Why? Because the halogen cycle stops tungsten from gunking up the inside of the tube. That means your light output stays steady for thousands of hours instead of dipping off after a few weeks. Some of our lamps also have special coatings. This helps the heat actually sink into the PET plastic rather than just scorching the surface.
The reality of the shop floor
These lamps put out a massive amount of heat. That’s great for your cycle times, but it’s tough on your cooling blowers. Keep an eye on your ventilation. If your blowers are clogged or just can’t keep up, the housing will overheat. When that happens, your filaments burn out way faster than they should. We keep these in stock so you aren’t stuck waiting weeks for an OEM shipment. You get the same heat profile as the original, but you aren’t paying a “brand name” tax. Just check your voltage and length, plug them in, and get back to work.
